Sophie Elgort is a fashion photographer based in New York City. She grew up around the sets of her father, photographer Arthur Elgort's photo shoots and began snapping photos as a hobby from a young age. She spent summers experiencing all angles of the fashion industry, learning from the best including Azzedine Alaïa and Vogue. After she received her Bachelor of Arts from Brown University in Comparative Literature, she decided she preferred taking pictures to anything else. When she was hired for her first shoot, it was clear she had made the right decision. Sophie’s body of work is charged with youthful spontaneity, and reflects her penchant for capturing vibrant, reportage-style photographs.

Sophie's photography has been published in an assortment of publications including Paper, Surface, Teen Vogue, Grazia UK, Tatler, Elle, Visual Tales, The Financial Times. Her advertising clients include Clinique, Tamara Mellon, ADEAM, Bloomingdales, Topshop, Theory, Rent the Runway, La Perla, Vince Camuto, Jacob & Co., Marina Rinaldi and Buccellati.

Sophie has guest-lectured on photography at the Rubin Museum of Art and Seton Hall University. She has also been called upon by a variety of media outlets to share insights on the topics of fashion, style and photography including AOL Style, Look TV and The Financial Times, whose style column, Suits and the City, she co-created in 2011.
